Jamaica set for strong Q4’s
Jamaica’s popularity continues to go from strength to strength with September UK visitor numbers increasing by over 21 per cent year on year, according to latest figures from The Jamaica Tourist Board. Jamaica Tourist Board’s Regional Director of UK, Ireland and Northern Europe, Elizabeth Fox said:
“We are delighted with this positive start to this quarter. In general the European market as a whole is performing very well, recording an overall increase of more than 40 per cent for September, year on year, and we anticipate further increases as the season unfolds. Early sight of Christmas and New Year figures indicates that we are looking at a similarly strong winter sun season.”
Fox continues: “The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) is exhibiting at World Travel Market this week, where amongst other things, it has updated travel professionals on new developments such as increased resources as Jamaica strengthens its marketing efforts in Ireland and Northern Europe; additional room stock and increased air lift planned for 2006; the re-launch of the JTB’s revamped travel professional training programme - The Jamaica Travel Specialist programme; and a Cricket World Cup 2007 update.
“WTM presents the ideal opportunity to visit the stand (CA1120) to find out about Jamaica’s extensive range of high quality accommodation that is supported by a diverse range of attractions, a rich cultural heritage and above all natural beauty. It really will be a case of once you go, you know.”
