Antigua and Barbuda Launch New Advertising Images
By Ben KilbeyAntigua and Barbuda are looking to raise the ante with regards to its tourism promotion with a series of new images, fresh from advertising partner First City. The images were unveiled at a lunch function yesterday Sep. 20, at London restaurant Coco. The images were unleashed onto journalists in front of Antigua and Barbuda’s (His) Excellency Dr. Carl Roberts High Commissioner.Speaking of the new image that is being built, Carol Hay, Director of Marketing UK and Europe, said; We have some exciting images that showcase the different aspects that are on offer in Antigua and Barbuda. These range from weddings and honeymoons to water sports and soft adventure. It is all there.”
Coco restaurant put on an al a carte menu of Caribbean fare whilst the pictures, taken by photographer Geoff Howes, were displayed in a presentation.
Speaking for advertising firm First City Advertising Matt Norwood, Art Director, indicated the company’s position on the new visuals; “We are very happy with the results. We knew exactly what we wanted, to move away from traditional Caribbean advertising and to create a fresh look for Antigua and Barbuda.”
Backing up this sentiment Hay added; “We are excited about the upcoming season. Hopefully our vibrant advertising campaign will make Antigua and Barbuda the leading choice for the UK market. Put simply it is affordable luxury.”
The images will be rolled out during the 2006/2007 campaigns. One of the main target audiences will be the wedding and honeymoon markets.
