Contemporary Rooms Follow Renovation

InterContinental Hong Kong now has new “Contemporary Guest Rooms” available, following the renovation of 65% of the hotel’s rooms and suites, the biggest renovation in the hotel’s 25 year history.Ê To celebrate this extensive project, InterContinental Hong Kong is offering travel agents a reduced rate of HK$1200 (US $155), plus 13% tax and service per night for the Contemporary Superior Harbourview Rooms when staying at the hotel in February 2006.Ê This is a 70% discount off the regular rack rates for these rooms.ÊAdditionally, any agent booking 10 room nights per year in 2005 will be upgraded to a Contemporary Junior Harbourview Suite (subject to verification with the hotel).ÊThis offer is subject to availability and accommodation requests should be e-mailed directly to the hotel at [email protected].
Acclaimed as one of the world’s top hotels and voted “Best View in the World” by Virtuoso LuxeReport 2004, InterContinental Hong Kong has undergone a dramatic transformation with major room and suite renovations, including the creation of Hong Kong’s largest Presidential Suite (scheduled to open in October 2005). This project is part of InterContinental Hotels Group’s ongoing renovation plan for the hotel since acquiring it in 2001 and its continuing commitment to not only maintaining, but also enhancing the hotel’s position as one of the world’s top properties.Ê
The new Contemporary Guest Rooms, which are scheduled for completion this month, have a streamlined modern look with Asian influences in art and accessories and soft, warm color tones designed to enhance the dramatic signature views while providing a residential feel.Ê The new guestroom layout maximizes room space, with a curved desk providing a generous working area.Ê All rooms will have new 37” Acquos Sharp LCD televisions, Bose DVD/CD home entertainment sound systems with iPod docking stations and high-speed wireless broadband access.
The soon-to-be-completed, five-bedroom Presidential Suite is 7,000 square-feet, with a duplex atrium entrance hall and living room, featuring two-story plate glass windows with panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island.Ê Most spectacular will be the suite’s 2,500 square-foot wrap-around harborview terrace with a rooftop infinity swimming pool and Jacuzzi, for an “IMAX” experience of Hong Kong.Ê

In addition to the completion of the Presidential Suite in October, the hotel will also unveil a new Romance/Honeymoon Suite and a CEO Suite, both with large outdoor terraces and Jacuzzis overlooking Victoria Harbour.Ê The design firm of LTW (Lim + Teo + Wilkes Design Works) based in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Milan, has been commissioned for this project.
