bmi to Launch Heathrow-Lyon

bmi is adding to its Heathrow network this winter with the introduction of a four times weekly service to France’s second biggest city and major ski destination of Lyon.Fights will operate from Friday to Monday inclusive on an Airbus A320 aircraft.Ê Internet fares, bookable via either bmibaby.com or flybmi.com, will start from just £29 one way including taxes and charges, cutting existing operator fares by 43% on a return fare basis.Ê

bmi chief executive, Nigel Turner, said:Ê “As well as adding new long - haul services from Heathrow we are at the same time extending the number of European destinations we serve.Ê We have every confidence that our new services to Lyon will prove to be extremely popular. It is the second biggest city in France as well being a major gateway to a wide range of winter ski destinations in the region.”

Services will operate during the winter period commencing on 3 December through to 22 April 2006.Ê The addition of Lyon will bring the number of services to French cities served by bmi from Heathrow to three, adding to Paris and Nice.Ê It will bring the number of short and long-haul destinations served by bmi from Heathrow to 23.
