Morris Appointed Chairperson of CTO UK Chapter

Lynne Morris, a travel marketing and public relations specialist, has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO)‘s UK Chapter, with immediate effect.Ms. Morris runs the specialist travel marketing and communications agency, LCM Communications, which she founded in 2003. She has spent her entire career in the travel industry, including nine years working in marketing and public relations and seventeen in travel operations such as conference/incentive, event management, tour operating and business travel.

The Chapter chairperson has worked extensively with the Caribbean throughout her career and has visited most destinations in the region. Her current portfolio of clients consists of destinations, hotels and airlines in the Caribbean, including the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board and Caribbean Star Airlines.

The key focus of the business is the delivery of specialist services including public relations, corporate events, conference/incentive and leisure marketing strategies, all tailored to the needs of individual clients.

Ms. Morris joined the board of the CTO UK Chapter in 2002, becoming chair of the marketing committee and subsequently vice chair of the Chapter. She stood down in 2003 to set up her own business but returned and was re-elected in April 2004.

“The Caribbean has always been an exciting tourism region and whilst there may be many challenges to face, I am confident that the UK’s tourism to the region will remain robust. Our aim is to increase the opportunities for the UK travel trade to work more closely with Caribbean tourism partners for mutual benefit, as well as raising the consumer profile of the Caribbean as a destination,” she added.
