Loews Develops Lake Las Vegas Property

Lake Las Vegas Resort, a
3,592-acre residential, golf and resort community just minutes from the
Las Vegas Strip, today announced that Loews Hotels will build its first
hotel in Nevada at the billion-dollar resort. The new Loews Hotel, Loews
Lake Las Vegas Resort, will become part of a successful resort community
nestled around a 320-acre lake boasting three championship golf courses,
multi-million dollar homes, high-end retail, award-winning restaurants,
the AAA Five Diamond-rated The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas and the AAA
Four Diamond-rated Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas Resort, Spa and Casino. The Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort will have an estimated 400 rooms with 40
suites and will feature 40,000 square feet of meeting space, two
restaurants, a lobby bar, a pool bar, two outdoor pools with whirlpools,
pool cabanas, a kids club, and a 20,000-square-foot destination spa, in
addition to other resort amenities. The hotel will also feature a large
exhibit center that all Lake Las Vegas Resort lodging properties can
utilize to accommodate large meeting and conference groups.

“The Lake Las Vegas setting is perfect for Loews Hotels customers as it
offers all the benefits of Las Vegas—the convenience of an
international airport and access to the world’s entertainment capitol—
but completely removed and within Lake Las Vegas’ relaxing, resort
destination that offers indoor and outdoor activities and amenities
conducive to both group business and leisure travelers,” said Jack Adler,
president of Loews Hotels. “Loews Hotels already has a strong presence in
the Southwest region with destination resorts in Tucson, Coronado, and
Santa Monica and we are excited to expand our brand into Nevada with Lake
Las Vegas Resort as our partner.”

Lake Las Vegas Resort’s newest hotel will be located near Reflection Bay
Golf Club, one of the resort’s two signature Jack Nicklaus golf courses,
and will feature white-sandy beaches, giving guests lakefront views and
immediate access to boating, swimming and fishing activities.

Ground breaking on Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort is scheduled for 2006, with
a grand opening slated for 2008. Hill Glazier Architects, Inc., has signed
on as the architectural firm. In staying with the resort’s theme, the
Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort will feature Mediterranean architecture. “We
have a long history with Loews Hotels, back to designing the Loews Ventana
Canyon Resort in Tucson some 20 years ago, and it is an honor to be
presented with the opportunity to work with Loews on the Lake Las Vegas
Resort project,” noted Robert Glazier, principal, Hill Glazier Architects,
Inc.

“We are very pleased Loews Hotels has selected Lake Las Vegas Resort as
the destination in which to open its first hotel in Nevada,” said R.F.
Boeddeker, president and chairman, Transcontinental Properties, Inc., Lake
Las Vegas Resort’s master developer. “Each Loews Hotels property emanates
a warmth that even the most discerning traveler finds inviting, a
characteristic for which their brand is well known, and that is one of the
many reasons we are happy to introduce them as the resort’s newest hotel.
Both our corporations are committed to providing guests an unparalleled
experience, as are all Lake Las Vegas Resort properties. The Loews property will
complement and further diversify the resort’s world-class accommodations
and amenities.”
