New Appointments for Wotif.com

Wotif.com
has appointed several new staff at it’s European headquarters to mirror the growth in its Irish, Italian and Eastern European markets.  Wotif.com’s European Manager, Matthew Harris, claimed that the competition between low-cost airlines and the tightening of corporate travel budgets has led to over 100% growth in three of its largest growing sectors. “Research has shown that it’s business and short break traffic that has ramped up the bookings in Germany, Italy and Eastern Europe, particularly in Prague, Munich and Milan. While Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary shouts about a ‘perfect storm’ for the budget airline industry, we now have more flights than ever before going to key European cities, which means more bookings for us. In addition, it seems that companies are seeking to reduce their travel costs further and gain flexibility by booking on the Internet without the need for a corporate travel booker.”

Sinead Comerford joins Wotif.com after ten years in the airline industry with both British Airways and American Airlines to be the new German Product Development Manager. Her aim is to expand the current portfolio of hotels in Germany and to form additional relationships within the German market.

Marcella Fusco’s remit as the new Italian Product Development Manager is to work with existing hotel partners all over Italy in order to oversee Wotif.com’s rapid growth in bookings. Marcella joins Wotif.com from the London branch of the Italian Chamber of Commerce.

Daniela Sedlonova, educated at the Academy of Business in Prague also has previous experience in Management Consultancy in the Czech capital, She brings her knowledge of Eastern European business practices to Wotif to aid our growth in this rapidly expanding market.

Sam Friend, Wotif.com’s London-based General Manager said: “we’re delighted to add two new managers and another co-ordinator in our European growth markets at a time when other last-minute travel websites are laying of staff by the score. In addition, we’ve had nothing but positive feedback from our hotel partners across Europe about our new supplier tool which enables hotels to update their rates and availability in real time with absolute ease.”
