Conrad has a SoundX
Conrad Hotels, the luxury brand of the Hilton Family
has launched its first music CD “Conrad Vol I”, which will be sold in Conrad hotels
worldwide. The music selection is based on a Conrad Hotels music survey, which was conducted
during the summer 2003 amongst 1,000 guests in European and Asian locations. Hotels
participating in the survey included the Conrad Bangkok, Conrad Cairo, Conrad Hong
Kong, Conrad Brussels and Conrad Centennial Singapore. The survey emphasized the
need for a variety of relaxing music with ethnic influences and rhythms reflecting
funk, soul, jazz and vocal.
The CD, manufactured in North America, contains a variety of selected lounge tracks,
each with a unique character, reflecting the diversity and distinctiveness of the
Conrad brand. The mesmerizing “Seeing Julie” by Kaskade initiates the musical
journey followed by the more ethnic flavored “Pabadam” by Yonderboi and “Global
Minstrel” by Angel Tears. “Sunset” by Nitin Sawhney adds soul to the music sequence
before the soothing “Speck of Gold” by Afterlife eases the body and mind. “Indian
Touch” by Pierre Cosso is a blend of Indian vocals and sensual French female lyrics
followed by “Mountain Path” by Badmarsh & Shri and “Take me Home” by Sara Divine,
bringing the listener back to more western sounding tunes. “When did you Leave
Heaven? (John Beltran Remix)” by Jimmi Scott adds another sensual track to the music
sequence with an exquisite fusion of nostalgic female vocals and the saxophone.
“Adeel” by Infernal is the final dynamic track, before the musical journey unwinds
with the melancholic “In a Long Time” by 46Bliss and concludes with the very
peaceful “Tibet (A Passage To)” by Tibet Project.
The exclusive blend of the musical genres allows the CD to be played at any place at
any time and will therefore be heard in hotel bars, restaurants and at times in the
hotels spas. The CD can be purchased in hotel rooms, outlets and hotel shops.
