Hilton Long Island/Huntington Partners With Symbol

The Hilton Long
Island/Huntington Hotel today announced the deployment of a new advanced
wireless network from Symbol Technologies, the Holtsville, N.Y.-based
Enterprise Mobility Company(TM), to provide high-speed wireless Internet
access to hotel guests and corporate meeting attendees. The technology
will enable groups of up to 500 attendees to all be on-line at the same in
the same place. “During the past few years, we have seen the demand for secure high-speed
Internet access for our guests and conference participants grow
substantially. By offering them a highly advanced always-on wireless
network that is constantly available, we now have a competitive edge to
attract large meetings from the many leading companies in the area,” said
hotel general manager Robert Sighinolfi. “This wireless infrastructure
solution from Symbol will help us provide a reliable service to our guests
that will enable them to freely move around the hotel and work wherever
they are most comfortable, be it our meeting rooms, ballrooms, restaurant
or atrium lobby.”

“Technology solutions that leverage Symbol’s wireless infrastructure, such
as wireless hotspots, curbside check-in and table-side wireless ordering
and payment processing, are beginning to emerge as hotels, restaurants,
and convention centers search for better and more efficient ways to
accommodate large numbers of people,” said Verlin Youd, vice president of
Symbol’s Retail Solutions Group. “We are pleased to be working with the
Hilton Long Island/Huntington Hotel on deploying this wireless hotspot in
their conference center, as they clearly believe that the use of such
technology offers a higher level of service to its visitors.”
