bmi increases long haul fuel surcharge

As a direct result of the continued rise in oil prices, bmi has increased the level of the fuel surcharge on its six long haul services to the USA and the Caribbean from £2.50 per sector to £6.00 per sector (£12.00 per return fare).
With immediate effect, the surcharge will be applied to all fares purchased in the UK for travel on bmi services from Manchester to the USA (Chicago, Washington and Las Vegas), and the Caribbean (Barbados, Antigua and St Lucia). All tickets bought in the USA will be subject to a US dollar increase of $6.00, up from $4.00 to $10.00 per flight sector ($20.00 per return flight). Tickets bought and issued prior to this date will not be affected.

The fuel surcharge for short haul journeys will remain the same at £2.50 per sector (£5.00 per return flight)

bmi will continue to monitor the fluctuations in worldwide oil prices closely with a view to reviewing the surcharge as and when appropriate.
