Celebrity players tour comes to Jamaica

Montego Bay’s finest courses will once again play host to the Celebrity Players Tour Jamaica Classic (CPT), scheduled for November 10 to 14.  Following the success of last year, when the tour visited a Caribbean destination for the first time, the 2004 Jamaican stop is shaping up to be twice as fabulous, with over 60 sporting legends expected to compete.  The CPT came to Jamaica because it is a burgeoning epicenter of destination golf, and it is the ideal location to combine golf with a family holiday or plan a corporate outing.

Referring to last year’s event, CPT President Nick Schmitz said, “All of us at the CPT are excited about once again returning to the beautiful golf destination of Montego Bay, Jamaica. They put on a fabulous show for us last year and we couldn’t be happier to stage a golf tournament in the Caribbean to help promote Jamaica, our terrific hotel/resort partners, and their first-class golf courses.”

Attracting players from all over the globe, the Celebrity Players Tour was organised to provide a competitive format for athletes and entertainers in an arena that differs from which they became famous, and to generate millions of dollars for charity.

The organisation’s membership roster features high-profile athletes and entertainment celebrities, such as John Elway, Ivan Lendl, Jim Brown and Jack Wagner.
