Delta Connection Academy Receives FAA Diamond Award

Delta Connection Academy has received the Federal Aviation
Administration’s (FAA) Diamond Award for Excellence. The award, the FAA’s
most prestigious Maintenance honor, signifies Delta Connection Academy’s
commitment to aircraft maintenance training and safety excellence. FAA
officials recently presented the Diamond Award Certificate of Excellence
to Delta Connection Academy’s Maintenance team at the flight training
school’s headquarters at Orlando International Airport in Florida.
“A commitment to safety is the most important example that Delta
Connection Academy can set for our students and the public,” said John
O’Brien, vice president of Maintenance and Operations at the academy. “The
FAA’s Diamond Award recognizes our continued dedication to excellence in
maintaining our fleet of training aircraft.”

In winning the honor, Delta Connection Academy exceeded FAA Diamond Award
requirements by having 75 percent of its eligible maintenance technicians
pass specialized, ongoing training in a 12-month period.

The academy’s main campus is at Orlando International Airport in Florida,
and it currently has more than 800 students at its main and satellite
campuses.
