The Spa At Little Dix Bay Premiers As Caribbean’s Ultimate Island Oasis

The debut of Rosewood Hotels & Resortså’ The Spa
at Little Dix Bay marks a significant step in the evolution
of one of the Caribbeanå‘s most beloved sanctuaries.

The Spa at Little Dix Bay celebrates the earth, air and
water in its treatments and island-inspired architecture.
Perched 100 feet above sea level on a precipice overlooking
Virgin Gorda’s crescent-shaped bay and protected coral
reef, the 5,200-square-foot spa offers dramatic 25-mile
views of the Caribbean’s famed seascape and nearby
Dog, Jerusalem and Beef Islands.

The resort’s A Sense of
Place philosophy and ‘recuperative personality’
demanded a spa facility that would blend harmoniously
with the environment.

The new spa, with its intimately
clustered tropical gardens and use of indigenous
ingredients in its services, promises to become the ultimate
in island refuge - a place where guests come to
recharge, rejuvenate and relax.

The spa’s nine separate
treatment cottages are carefully positioned on the
rustic landscape to capture the most idyllic Caribbean
panoramas.

By virtue of its location, the spa offers its
guests the therapeutic benefits of the sea appealing to
the senses on an emotional level and as well as on
a physiological level with its ionic balancing powers.

A group of private freestanding treatment cottages
allows guests the opportunity to enjoy spa services in
their own exclusive space or in pastoral settings.

The
largest cottage, at 672 square feet, is the Spa Suite
located at the northern-most point of the spa property.
Designed to offer the most intimate escape, the Spa
Suite allows two guests to enjoy services simultaneously.

Available on a half or full-day basis, this exclusive
cottage features its own dining area for private meals
and refreshments.

The Spa Suite is characterized by bird’seye
views of the sea from its private outdoor dining area
and a therapeutic plunge pool located at the cliff’s edge.
A relaxation terrace set amid lush tropical gardens
adds to the enchanting ambience.

The suite also features
a luxurious bathroom with an indoor shower and large
outdoor shower for wet treatments.

The spa treatment cottages, outfitted with two private
rooms, are designed specifically to offer refreshing facials,
rejuvenating massages and salon treatments. Outdoor
stone patios in each allow guests to enjoy services in an
air-conditioned indoor environment of warm yellow
stucco walls or alfresco with stunning ocean views.
The manicure/pedicure cottage faces the resort
and offers haircutting and styling in a residentially
designed space. The massage cottage, set on the
western-most tip of the spa property, is equipped with
portable beds to offer guests the opportunity to easily
select the ambience for their treatment.
The massage
terrace, with its graduated stone privacy wall, captures
the island sky and water, as well as the aromatherapy
benefits of exotic flora. The Spa at Little Dix Bay
offers a complete menu of 13 traditional and locally
influenced massages.
The facial cottage is located next
to the pool pavilion. A multi-purpose space, the facial
cottage also services massages with its convertible
treatment tables. The spa offers a multiplicity of
facials including Yon-Ka, aromatherapy, Austrian
Moor and fresh-fruit inspired services.
The luxurious wet treatment cottage houses two
separate rooms with hand-held Vichy hoses and wet
beds. Both rooms feature private outdoor stone showers
with “rain” heads and three-paneled glass doors
offering western island “peek-a-views” of the sea.
The spa’s wet treatment rooms are ideally equipped
to service some ten signature treatments.
The Spa at Little Dix Bay offers an array of signature
