Hilton`s Health Club Division Livingwell Comes To Malta - New Luxury Club Planned For St Julians

Hilton Group plc’s health club division LivingWell is expanding into Europe committing £5 million to fund overseas development for the year 2000. The first overseas LivingWell Health Club will open in Malta, in St Julians.

The Maltese LivingWell, operated under a management contract, will be located in a new Hilton International Hotel, which is currently under construction. This move follows LivingWell’s recent announcement of a £55 million programme of UK club investment over the next 12 months.

The new club is due to open in April 2000 and will be headed up by 34-year-old Gez Oliver, former manager of a Premier UK club. Gez will take up the position of general manager of the 27k sq.ft LivingWell club and will begin recruiting locally to fill a number of job opportunities including gym instructors, aerobic instructors and a receptionist.

“The Maltese club is LivingWell’s first venture into Europe so this is a very exciting time for the company,” said Gez Oliver, manager of the new club in Malta.

“As the UK’s largest health club operator, LivingWell has achieved a reputation for its excellent club facilities. The new club in St Julian will offer local residents and hotel guests the chance to improve their mind, body and soul in luxurious surroundings.”
