British Airways launches new Ibiza route

BA has launched its new BA CityFlyer service to Ibiza, allowing passengers to fly direct from the Docklands to the Balearics.

In just two hours and 15 minutes, customers can fly from London City on a direct flight to Ibiza on the new Embraer 190 aircraft, to this popular city break destination. Flights depart and return on a Monday, Friday and Sunday, leaving early morning and returning early evening, which will benefit clubbers notoriously caught out by midnight departures. For July and August only, a Wednesday service has also been added.

To celebrate the launch, Paul Woolford, resident DJ for ‘We…Love’ at Space, Ibiza, played an exclusive set in the British Airways lounge, for customers and VIPs before the inaugural flight.

Paul said: “I’ve played in some pretty unusual places, but never in a lounge at the end of a runway before. As a resident DJ at Space, I know how beneficial it will be to have this direct service from the heart of the city to Ibiza over the summer.”

Luke Hayhoe, commercial manager, BA CityFlyer, said: “This new service is perfectly placed for work-hard play-hard customers that are after convenience, style and comfort. The Balearic Islands are the perfect destination for beach, sun and fun. With just two hours 15 minutes flying time and a minimum check-in time of 15 minutes at London City Airport, it certainly maximises party time.”
