bmi regional has launched six new routes from Birmingham Airport and Bristol Airport.

Cathal O’Connell CEO of bmi regional said: “Today we are very proud to launch 6 new routes from Birmingham and Bristol to Gothenburg, Lyon, Toulouse, Hannover, Munich and Milan. bmi regional has already created over 100 new jobs with these new routes in the South West and the Midlands.

“These routes are an indication of our commitment to UK regions and a significant investment in Bristol and Birmingham; we expect to continue to significantly increase employment and create a better network for both leisure and business travellers from the Midlands.

“The launch of these six routes to is a continuation of bmi regional’s promise to serve key economic and tourism hubs across Europe. These new routes are incremental to the four new routes rolled out since bmi regional established itself as an independent airline in 2012 (Bristol to Aberdeen, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Manchester to Antwerp).

With fares starting from as little as £59, we are reducing both the cost and travel time for both business and leisure travellers who wish to travel to popular European destinations. With increasing congestion in some London airports, Bristol and Birmingham Airports are a great alternative to those who recognise the benefits of less crowded airports, speedy boarding, good shopping and eating facilities” continued O’Connell. bmi regional customer and Airbus General Manager and Human Resources Director, Mark Stewart said: “These new services will be welcomed by our employees especially the direct route to Munich which will give us much better access to our colleagues in EADS. Coming on top of the recently announced new route from Bristol to Hamburg it will certainly help reduce travel time and increase business efficiency allowing our employees to reach their destination quicker, whilst continuing to support our local airport.”
