Airtel Seychelles launches partnership with Manchester United

Airtel Seychelles has launched its first local chapter of Airtel Rising Stars.

This is in partnership with Manchester United, the Seychelles Football Federation, and Samsung Electronics, the official device partner for the ARS program.

This initiative was started as an annual, multi-country grassroots soccer initiative that offers young stars the opportunity to play, compete, and showcase their talent in their respective countries.

Airtel Rising Stars is the largest under 17 grassroots tournament on the African continent.

Although this is the first edition in Seychelles Airtel Rising Stars, it is in its third season and is running across the following African countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Madagascar, Malawi, Zambia, DRC, Congo B, Gabon, Chad, Niger, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Rwanda.

“Airtel is already a great supporter of youth soccer in Seychelles as seen in the Airtel Cup, and together with our partners we will ensure we are not only great supporters, but also the most consistent supporter of grassroots football in Seychelles.

“Airtel Rising Stars is important to us because it enables the youth to experience fun and enjoyment while connecting the community with their passion that is football.

“We are proud to launch Airtel Rising Stars and look forward to nurturing the next greatest football star out there in Seychelles,” said Airtel Seychelles, country manager, Vikram Sinha during the launch.

The inaugural Airtel Rising Stars in Seychelles will offer an opportunity to two most talented youths who are spotted in Seychelles to attend a top notch soccer clinic in the Democratic Republic of Congo this September run by Manchester United Football Club.

Manchester United will have their coaches teach the young selected stars across Africa to play the “Manchester United way”.

The young stars will be taught some world-class skills they can practice after the clinic that will help them in their road towards becoming Africa’s next top footballer.

The Seychelles Football Federation will locally run Airtel Rising Stars, and it hopes to see many boys under 17 come out and showcase their skills during this tournament.
