Aeroflot sees passenger numbers increase in early 2016

In the first nine months of 2016, Aeroflot Group carried 32.8 million passengers, up 9.2 per cent year-on-year.

Aeroflot airline carried 21.7 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 10.4 per cent.

Group and company revenue passenger kilometres increased by 13.1 per cent and 11 per cent year-on-year, respectively.

Available seat kilometres rose by 8.8 per cent year-on-year for Aeroflot Group and by 8.5 per cent for Aeroflot airline.

The passenger load factor increased by 3.1 percentage points year-on-year to 82.4 per cent for the group and by 1.8 percentage year-on-year to 82 per cent for the company.

In September 2016, Aeroflot Group carried 4.2 million passengers, up 11.6 per cent year-on-year.

Aeroflot airline carried 2.7 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 11.8 per cent.

On domestic routes, group passengers carried and RPKs grew by 2.5 per cent and 6.2 per cent year-on-year, respectively.
ASKs remained flat year-on-year.

Company passengers carried and RPKs on domestic routes were up 7.9 per cent and 3.5 per cent year-on-year, respectively.
ASKs declined by 1.4 per cent.

The decrease in Company’s ASKs was due to postponement of aircraft deliveries required for summer schedule operations and respective adjustments in the flight program.
