Marella Cruises launches first ever television ad in UK

Marella Cruises has launched its first ever television advert.

Scheduled to run for four weeks, it is designed to cement the new brand name among key audiences.

The advert, which will feature in the same ad breaks as TUI, will be shown on popular channels including ITV, Channel 4 and some sky channels.

The ten second advert was created by Y&R using Brace productions content and uses the same familiar music and voice over from Keeley Hawes recognisable from the TUI advert, reassuring customers that Marella Cruises is still part of the world of TUI.

The advert forms part of a wider marketing campaign with focuses on both print and digital.

The new campaign follows the recent rebrand to Marella Cruises as the UK travel brand embarked on its biggest rebrand in history in October.

The word Marella, which means ‘shining sea’ in Celtic, was chosen by the company to reflect its spirit of exploration and discovery across the seas.

The ad shows one of the company’s newest ships Marella Discovery sailing across the open seas and aims to highlight the fantastic service onboard.

Chris Hackney, managing director of Marella Cruises, said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for our business.

“It’s the first time in our history that we have had a Cruise advert on television.

“We’re really proud of our brand and as cruising becomes more popular we are moving forward as Marella Cruises continuing to strive to offer amazing itineraries, fantastic entertainment and the friendliest staff at sea.”

Marella is the UK’s third largest cruise company.
