Millions of Brits staying home for summer holidays
Some 10.3 million Brits plan to make the most of the summer by taking at least one holiday or short break in the UK, with 8.9 million people planning to take that trip in England, according to the Summer Trip Tracker from VisitEngland. This is likely to generate some £2.3billion in tourism spend for the UK economy, around £1.9bn of which will be spent in England.

International Passenger Survey reveals strongest ever tourism returns in UK
Figures from the latest International Passenger Survey show inbound tourism has delivered all-time record revenue to Britain over the past 12 months with more holiday visitors than ever before. The findings from the IPS reveal a six per cent increase in visitor spend to £18.2 billion for the twelve months to May 2012 with incoming holiday visitors over the period reaching a record 12.3 million.

VisitBritain reveals record arrivals for April
VisitBritain has released the results of the International Passenger Survey for April 2012 revealing a healthy increase in both the volume and value of inbound tourism with same period of 2011. A total of 2.9 million people arrived from overseas during the month, spending some £1.4 billion.

VisitBritain confirms ongoing partnership with Embratur
The cooperation agreement signed in December 2009 between Embratur (the Brazilian Tourist Board) and VisitBritain is to be renewed. The decision was announced at a meeting between Embratur’s director of international markets, Marcelo Pedroso and the chairman of VisitBritain, Christopher Rodrigues, which took place in São Paulo.
VisitBritain woos Japanese outbound tourism market
VisitBritain is reinforcing its increased investment and commitment to the world’s seventh most valuable source market for international tourism by taking a trade delegation to Japan this week, where it will introduce British tourism businesses to key Japanese travel buyers.
