US Airways Group, Inc today announced December, fourth quarter, and full-year 2011 traffic results. Mainline revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for the month were 4.9 billion, up 3.6 percent versus December 2010.

Delta Air Lines and US Airways have welcomed the decision the decision by the US department of transport to approve the proposed slot transaction at New York-LaGuardia and Washington-Reagan National airports. The order, which is subject to conditions, represents a clear recognition by the Obama administration the slot transaction is in the public interest because of the service benefits and efficiencies that would result in both New York and Washington, argued the carriers.

Officials at the United States Transport of Department have provisionally agreed to allow Delta Air Lines and US Airways to proceed with a large swap of takeoff and landing rights at Reagan Washington National Airport and New York’s LaGuardia Airports.

US Airways Group, Inc. today announced June, quarter and year-to-date 2011 traffic results. Mainline revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for the month were 5.7 billion, up 2.5 percent versus June 2010. Mainline capacity was 6.6 billion available seat miles (ASMs), up 2.3 percent versus June 2010. Mainline passenger load factor was an all-time record 87.1 percent, up 0.2 points versus June 2010.

US Airways, Inc, a wholly-owned subsidiary of US Airways Group, Inc, announced today its intention to make an offering, subject to market and other conditions, of Class C enhanced equipment trust certificates (the “Certificates”) in the aggregate principal amount of approximately $53 million.

Flights across the United States were returning to normal today after computer glitches caused disruption at both United Airlines and US Airways over the weekend. On Friday a five-hour outage forced United to ground 16 flights and around 25 on Saturday, with a similar incident striking at US Airways on Sunday.
