Manchester Airport has launched its first multi-channel, multi-audience marketing campaign to showcase the breadth of destinations it offers to the USA. The #USADirect campaign will see the airport reach out to all areas of its catchment area that spans as far north as the Scottish Borders, south to the Midlands, east to Yorkshire, and west to Merseyside and North Wales.
Emirates launched its 11th destination in the United States with the start of a daily non-stop passenger service between Dubai and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Fort Lauderdale is Emirates’ second destination in Florida, after launching Orlando more than a year ago.
Virgin Hotels is breaking ground with Dunhill Partners and Gatehouse Capital on Virgin Hotels Dallas. The new development marks Virgin Hotels’ second property currently under construction, behind Virgin Hotels New York City. Virgin Hotels Dallas will open its doors at the end of 2018.
Irish airline Aer Lingus has launched a new daily service from Dublin to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. The new year-round route marks the latest addition to the carrier’s fast-growing transatlantic network. Only 40 mins from downtown Manhattan, Newark represents another great option for those keen to visit the Big Apple, complementing Aer Lingus’ existing double-daily services to New York JFK via Dublin and six-times weekly flights via Shannon.
Michigan has announced a 42 per cent growth in overseas visitors, year on year, 2014-2015, which is the largest growth rate of any state in the USA. The top three countries travelling to the state were Germany, the United Kingdom and China. The state was also the primary destination for 69 per cent of the international travellers surveyed, demonstrating that Michigan is not merely a gateway but attracts visitors wishing to spend time exploring its many attractions.
Experience Kissimmee and West Ham United Football Club have announced a three-year partnership naming the Florida tourism marketing bureau as the team’s Official Destination Partner. TAP Portugal has increased its direct non-stop weekly flights to the United States as it welcomes the introduction of its new A330 aircraft to the fleet.
