UNWTO raises deep concern over US travel ban

Days after the event, the World Tourism Organisation has moved to express its “deep concern” and “strong condemnation” over the recently announced travel ban by the United States of America. The ban announced on Friday, effectively bars nationals of seven countries - Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen – from entering the US.

Michigan has announced a 42 per cent growth in overseas visitors, year on year, 2014-2015, which is the largest growth rate of any state in the USA. TAP Portugal has increased its direct non-stop weekly flights to the United States as it welcomes the introduction of its new A330 aircraft to the fleet. The Star Alliance-member will now offer daily non-stop direct flights from Lisbon to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York and the Logan International Airport in Boston, Massachusetts.
