Officials at the Aviation Safety Council in Taiwan have released data showing the pilot of a TransAsia plane which crashed in Taipei had switched off the working engine. Forty-three people died earlier this year when the ATR 72-600 aircraft crashed into a river in the Taiwan capital.

A TransAsia flight has crashed following an attempted emergency landing in Taiwan with the loss of more than 40 lives. The domestic flight came down near Magong Airport on the outlying Penghu Island in typhoon conditions.

Taiwan-listed airline TransAsia Airways has officially taken delivery of its first A330-300 aircraft from Airbus, with the new has landing in Taipei. The delivery marks the beginning of TransAsia Airway’s fleet enhancement plan; from 2013 to 2022, the airline will receive a further 31 new aircraft, which includes its second A330-300, six A321-200, twelve A321-neo, and twelve ATR-600 - three of which are optional.
