TUI Group has revealed it will modernise its Thomson Cruises business in the UK through the acquisition of “Legend of the Seas” from Royal Caribbean International. Thomson Cruises is part of the British subsidiary TUI UK & Ireland which is acquiring the 63,000 tonne vessel directly from RCI.

Thomson Cruises has revealed a significant investment in Thomson Dream and Thomson Celebration as part of the cruise line’s modernisation strategy. Upgrades will include public areas such as sun decks and lounges, and the on-board dining experience will be enhanced with the introduction of a brand new a la carte restaurant on each ship.
TUI UK&I has announced Helen Caron has been appointed as the new managing director of its cruise division. Caron, currently director of Ireland, will now be responsible for managing the Thomson Cruises business.
