The presentation of the first BLS double-decker multiple-unit train in Erlen, canton of Thurgau, is a historic moment for BLS. BLS’s first-time procurement of double-deckers will provide up to 30% more seating capacity on the Berne commuter railway system lines they are used on.
First findings on the cause of the derailment in Norway
The Accident Investigation Board Norway published a preliminary report about the derailment of a test train last Wednesday. It determined that the train was travelling at a speed of 135 km/h at the time the brakes were applied.
First new Zentralbahn train has arrived
The first of 10 new Zentralbahn trains was rolled out today at Stadler Rail in Bussnang (canton of Thurgau). As well as being particularly light, dynamic and comfortable, this new train is also impressively quiet. The order as a whole is worth a total of around CHF 140 million, making it the largest order for rack-and-pinion rail vehicles ever issued in the world.
Stadler Rail 700th FLIRT will run in South Tyrol
