Rocco Forte to open second hotel in Rome
A second Rocco Forte hotel will open in Rome in 2018, following the ongoing success of the existing Rocco Forte hotel in the city, Hotel de Russie. Rocco Forte Hotels, which is 23 per cent owned by the Gruppo Cassa Depositi e Prestiti through CDP Equity, will work with the real estate division of Reale Group to renovate and upgrade the Hotel De La Ville.
Rocco Forte Hotels reveals Map My Future careers app
Rocco Forte Hotels has developed the new ‘Map My Future’ app as part of a competition set up by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, inviting hospitality and retail companies to present ideas for company projects and to apply for funding. The funding was awarded to the projects that best demonstrated how their idea would benefit employees by supporting career progression and addressing skills gaps.

Rocco Forte moves into Asia Pacific with Shanghai deal
Rocco Forte, chairman of Rocco Forte Hotels has attended a signing ceremony in Shanghai, announcing that a Rocco Forte hotel will open in Shanghai in 2018, constituting the group’s first move into the Asia Pacific market. Rocco Forte Hotels will partner with Longhua International to be part of the Longhua International Aviation Service Centre, a new urban complex in Shanghai’s Xuhui Riverside area known as West Bund.

Kienast resumes leadership role with Hotel de Rome in Berlin
Peter Kienast has been appointed the position of general manager of Hotel de Rome, the Rocco Forte hotel located on the illustrious Bebelplatz in Berlin. Overseeing all aspects of the Berlin award winning hotel, Kienast will be responsible for day to day operations and strategic direction of the hotel, including the 145 rooms and suites, the newly launched La Banca restaurant and bar, the historic ballroom, the seasonal roof terrace as well as the Hotel de Rome Spa and meeting and conferencing offerings.
Rocco Forte secures funding from Italian sovereign wealth fund
Rocco Forte Hotels has announced a strategic partnership with Fondo Strategico Italiano Spa, the Italian State-backed sovereign fund 80 per cent controlled by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and 20 per cent by Bank of Italy. It has a paid-up share capital of €4.4 billion. FSI will inject £60 million into Rocco Forte and Family in exchange for an equity stake of 23 per cent, valuing the enlarged equity at £260 million.
Rocco Forte Hotels welcomes Held back to Russia
Rocco Forte Hotels has announced the appointment of Gerold Held as general manager for Hotel Astoria in St Petersburg. Held takes over from Walter Neumann, who after a successful three years at the hotel will move to Moscow to assume his new role as chief executive of Azimut Hotels.
