Quito has confirmed it will host two large international sports tournaments over the next months. With the intention of becoming a reference city in terms of event management, the capital of Ecuador will be home for the PGA Latin American Tour in September and for the ATP 250 Tournament next January, 2015.

Quito, which is a candidate to become one of the Seven Wonder Cities of the world, will offer leaflets, maps, booklets, books and a screen with images and videos, in order to attract British birdwatchers and tour operators with the amazing variety of its wildlife, and stunning natural landscapes which make the ideal backdrop for this activity.

A host of industry leaders are celebrating this evening after the winners were revealed at the World Travel Awards South & Central America Gala Ceremony 2014. In front of an elite industry audience at the Centro Cultural Itchimbía, in Ecuadorian capital Quito, LAN Airlines walked away with the title of South America’s Leading Airline, while South America’s Leading Business Travel Destination went to Bogota, Colombia.

World Travel Awards lands in Quito ahead of South & Central America Gala Ceremony 2014

World Travel Awards has arrived in Quito, capital of world-beating tourism destination Ecuador, ahead of the South & Central America Gala Ceremony 2014. The event will take place this Saturday, August 9th, at Centro Cultural Itchimbía, Quito, with hundreds of industry leaders in attendance. Ecuadorian writer, photographer and television personality Renato Ortega will host the ceremony, which will also welcome a stellar entertainment line-up. Taking the stage will be the native artisans of the Quito School of Arts & Crafts, while a violin tribute to the Avenue of Volcanoes will also be performed.

Quito Tourism, the official tourism office in the capital of Ecuador, has chosen Branding Latin America as its representative in the Latin American market in the UK and will be in charge of relations with media and the professional tourism industry, with the aim of promoting the Ecuadorian capital. The promotional campaign will focus on the main tourist attractions of the city, such as Quito Historic Centre, the largest and best preserved colonial centre in South America and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1978.
