Qatar Airways adds 14 routes in global expansion
Qatar Airways is expanding its its network to 14 new destinations. Spread across four continents, the new routes will further expand the reach of the airline’s network, and will include the world’s longest flight, between Doha and Auckland, New Zealand.
Qatar Airways flies super-long-haul into Sydney
Not to be outdone by the launch of Emirates’ flight from Dubai to Auckland earlier, Qatar Airways today celebrated the arrival of its first flight from Doha to Sydney, making this the airline’s third gateway into Australia. The airline now operates a Boeing 777-300 daily from Doha to Sydney connecting Australian passengers to its global network of more than 150 destinations. Qatar Airways has been serving Australia since 2009 when it commenced flights to Melbourne, later adding flights to Perth in 2012.
Qatar Airways doubles flights to Bucharest
Qatar Airways will double the amount of flights on its Doha to Bucharest route from this summer, enhancing the service from a daily to double-daily offering, in response to increased passenger demand to and from Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport in Romania.
Qatar Airways signs code-share deal with Comair
Qatar Airways has signed a new code-share agreement with Comair, a franchise of British Airways, that will add three new African destinations to the Qatar Airways route map, and provide additional flight options to travellers in Cape Town and Durban.
Qatar Airways to offer direct flights to Maputo, Mozambique
Qatar Airways will upgrade to non-stop B787 Dreamliner service three times weekly between Doha and Maputo, Mozambique, effective March 27th, 2016. The airline currently serves the Doha–Maputo route three times a week via South Africa’s largest city Johannesburg. With the start of the new non-stop service to Maputo International Airport, passengers from the UK can now take advantage of a seamless one-stop connection to Mozambique’s capital city via Doha, saving approximately five hours per direction from prior itineraries.
Qatar Airways expands UAE network
Qatar Airways started non-stop service between Doha and Ras Al Khaimah, its fifth destination in the United Arab Emirates. An Airbus A320 operates the Ras Al Khaimah route, featuring 144 seats in a two-class configuration of 12 seats in Business Class and 132 seats in Economy.

Qatar Airways to launch new Yerevan, Armenia, route
Qatar Airways has announced that, commencing May 15th, the airline will offer four-times weekly non-stop flights between Doha and Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. Qatar Airways chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, commented that passengers on the new direct service to and from Yerevan will benefit from easier access to the rest of the world via Qatar Airways’ global network.
