Oakwood has made its debut in Vietnam – a highly anticipated emerging market – with Oakwood Apartments Ho Chi Minh City. Concurrently, Oakwood Asia Pacific also extended its range of products with the debut of Oakwood Suites – opening Oakwood Suites La Maison Jakarta.

Oakwood Asia Pacific has shared new plans for aggressive growth and strategic expansion. Estimating a projected growth of over 40 per cent in portfolio size over the next two years, Dean Schreiber, manager director of Oakwood Asia Pacific explained: “We are observing an increasingly mobile workforce and a heightened awareness of serviced apartments and its advantages over hotel rooms.”
Oakwood Asia Pacific has appointed Neil Blenkharn as general manager of the upcoming Oakwood Residence Damei Beijing. Slated to open in 2016’s fourth quarter, Oakwood Residence Damei Beijing will be the second Oakwood Residence property to operate in China’s bustling capital.

Oakwood Worldwide and Mapletree Group have signed a corporate and serviced apartment joint venture that aims to open more than 100 new properties around the world over the next five years. Mapletree will acquire a 49 percent stake in Oakwood Asia Pacific, Oakwood Worldwide’s serviced apartment business in Asia, and will target acquiring and developing some US$4billion worth of corporate and serviced apartment assets within Asia, Europe and North America.
