Norwegian Cruise Line has confirmed adjustments to its smoking policy for each of the line’s 11 Freestyle Cruising ships in response to changing guest preferences. Effective January 2012, guests setting sail on a Norwegian cruise vacation are no longer permitted to smoke cigarettes in their staterooms.

Norwegian Cruise Line has seen adjusted EBITDA for the second quarter increase 29 per cent to $123.5 million – with more passengers paying more for their tickets with the line. Net Revenue for the quarter ended June 30th also increased 19.8 per cent to $418 million from $349 million in 2010.

Norwegian Cruise Line has filed for an initial public offering in the United States, with the company valued at as much as $250 million. NCL requested an S-1 registration, which will see it listed on the NASDAQ under the symbol NCLH, stating it would use funds raised to pay down existing debts.
