Starwood to debut Aloft brand in Melbourne, Australia

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with Spotlight Group to debut its Aloft brand in Melbourne, Australia’s cultural capital. Slated to open in early 2019, the new build 176-room hotel will form the centrepiece of a state-of-the-art mixed-use development located at 402 Chapel Street in South Yarra, known as “402 Chapel,” designed by international architect Tim Kobe.

Conrad Hotels & Resorts has signed a franchise agreement with Sa Bora Bora Nui for the Conrad Bora Bora Nui. The 115-key resort, formerly known as Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa, will undergo a multimillion-dollar refurbishment and open as Conrad Bora Bora Nui in March 2017.

Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas has announced the latest project in its expanding portfolio in the island country of Fiji. This small archipelago in the South Pacific is comprised of 332 islands and nearly one million inhabitants spread throughout the major islands of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Approximately one third of the islands are uninhabited, ranging in size from 3,800 square miles to tiny islands or spits of sand a few hundred acres in circumference.
