Minor Hotels has announced that it will debut its Avani brand in South Korea with the launch of Avani Busan Hotel. The new-build 400-key hotel represents a milestone for Minor Hotels as its first property in South Korea.
The Ascott races ahead by securing contracts to manage six properties with more than 1,200 apartment units in China, on the back of record growth last year. The new properties entrench Ascott’s presence in Changsha, Shenzhen, Tianjin and Wuhan, while extending its footprint to two more cities – Handan and Xuzhou.
Dusit International has signed a management agreement with Myanmar V-Pile Group to operate the Dusit Thani Yangon. Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has signed a third hotel in Bangladesh, in the city of Khulna, to further increase its presence in the flourishing south Asian destination. The move follows a steady and concerted focus on Bangladesh, with projects already underway in Cox Bazaar and the capital Dhaka, as the international hospitality management firm continues to develop its presence in the region.
The Ascott has secured a contract with Sandhya Hotels to manage three new serviced residences in India, the world’s third largest economy. Two properties are in the major technology cities of Hyderabad and Bangalore and a third serviced residence is in Sri City, less than an hour’s drive from Chennai.
Dusit Fudu Hotels & Resorts has reached an agreement with Zheng Heng Group to manage the new deluxe Dusit Thani Resort in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. The property will become the first internationally branded hot springs and wellness resort in the area. The agreement was signed by senior executives from both parties at a ceremony held at the flagship Dusit Thani Bangkok.
Minor Hotel Group has continued expansion in south-east Asia with the development of Anantara Ubud Bali Resort. MHG has formed a 50/50 joint venture with Indonesia-based PT Wijaya Karya Realty on this US$41.4 million development.
Dusit Fudu Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Huizhou Xiyuan Tourism Investment Company to manage a 350-room luxury international resort in Huizhou City, Guangdong Province. The Dusit Thani Sandalwoods Resort Huizhou Shuangyue Bay, Guangdong is anticipated to open in May 2019.
