Navi Mumbai airport given green light
Building work is set to begin on a second international airport in Mumbai following an agreement between the City Industrial & Development Corporation and the Environment Ministry. This being India, however, there are strings attached, with backers of the airport forced to acquiesce to a number of strict environmental conditions in order to get plans for Navi Mumbai airport off the ground.
Jet Airways Launch its inaugral Mumbai-Jeddah daily
Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, today launched its services to Saudi Arabia with the introduction of its daily service from Mumbai to Jeddah. The airline marked the occasion with the customary inaugural ceremony at the Mumbai International Airport.
