Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is planning 11 new hotel projects across nine countries bringing the company’s total number of operating and planned hotels worldwide to 100.

Mövenpick Resort & Spa Karon Beach Phuket has been certified for its sustainable operation and management. The Phuket-based resort achieved a score of 78 percent of all criteria in its audit and has become the first Green Globe certified hotel in Phuket.

Green Globe announced that following a long-term commitment to sustainable corporate initiatives with regard to the environment, local community, and employees, Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Beirut has been successfully certified for its triple bottom-line approach to operation and management.

Mövenpick Hotels&Resorts has now received Green Globe certification for 20 Middle Eastern properties, meaning that the international hotel group has become the leading hospitality company in the region in terms of measuring and monitoring its environmental and social performance.

International upscale hotel group Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has opened its first property in India – marking the beginning of the group’s expansion into the country.
