Etihad Airways signs codeshare deal with Montenegro Airlines

Etihad Airways and Montenegro Airlines, the flag carrier of the Republic of Montenegro, have signed a codeshare agreement that provides travellers with enhanced connectivity when flying between south-east Europe and the Middle East. The agreement will see Etihad Airways placing its “EY” code on Montenegro Airlines’ flights between Belgrade and two destinations in Montenegro – its capital Podgorica and the attractive town of Tivat on the Adriatic coast.

Luxury hotel brand The Chedi is set to open its second European property in Lustica Bay, on the coast of Montenegro. Covering seven million square metres, The Chedi Lustica Bay will be the largest five-star hotel in the Boka Bay, offering 110 rooms, two restaurants, a bar, conference and business centre, an outdoor pool, spa and fitness centre featuring indoor heated pool and gymnasium and ancillary facilities.

After gaining independence in 2006, Montenegro, a country half the size of Wales and with a population of just 625,000 has attracted over €4 billion in foreign investment, and now has investors from over 100 countries around the world. The latest property development funded by British private equity company, the Boka Group - who have themselves managed over €1 billion of development value in the country, celebrated the start of construction on its latest scheme of luxury villas overlooking Kotor Bay last week, marking the start with a foundation stone ceremony attended by the mayor of Kotor.
