Meliá Hotels International today has signed two new hotels in growing political and business hub of Zhengzhou, China. INNSIDE by Meliá will open in June 2015, and Meliá Zhengzhou in January 2016.

Leading hotel company, Meliá Hotels International, has unveiled their next major launch as the ME by Meliá brand continues to grow. ME by Meliá Dubai will open in the jaw-dropping Opus building, developed by real estate company Omniyat.

Meliá Hotels International has appointed Luca by Luchford APM to lead the global strategy for the portfolio of over 350 hotels, in 35 countries, in a more consolidated PR campaign as it seeks to elevate the brand. Luca by Luchford APM will continue to manage the ME by Meliá portfolio, the luxury lifestyle brand, which, further to launching the flagship property ME London on March 1st 2013, has more exciting plans in store, to be announced later this year.

Meliá Hotels International will continue to strengthen its international expansion and business model in 2013 and make progress in its adaptation to changing market conditions. “Thanks to a consistent international growth plan, supported by strong brands and a model based on management contracts and variable leases, we added a hotel every three weeks in 2012, with 80 per cent of the rooms outside Spain,” said Gabriel Escarrer, chief executive of MHI.

These are exciting times for the luxury hotel market in London, with a sometimes stuffy roster of existing properties being challenged by a host of new international brands. Next to challenge for a place among this elite group is ME London, created by Foster + Partners for Meliá Hotels & Resorts, which will open in December.

Meliá Hotels International has concluded the first stage of its Calvià Beach Resort project aimed at generating the gradual renovation and repositioning of Magaluf, a mature resort destination located on the south west coast of Mallorca.
