JW Marriott moves into Italy with Venice property
Marriott has announced plans to open a luxury resort on the private island of Sacca Sessola, located in the Venetian lagoon. The 266-room JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa will operate under a management agreement with an affiliate of Aareal Bank and is expected to open in 2014.
Marriott International expands in Thailand
Marriott International is signing seven management agreements with TCC Hotels Group which will see the US hospitality company operating seven TCC hotels across Thailand. This landmark agreement will add 3,000 rooms to Marriott International’s existing 12 hotels of 3,110 rooms across Thailand.
Marriott set to launch two new brands in Brazil
Marriott International is planning to introduce two of its mid-market hotel brands, the Fairfield Inn and Courtyard by Marriott brands in Brazil. The company will open a new 165-room Fairfield Inn by Marriott in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, and a 160-room Fairfield Inn by Marriott and 158-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel, both in Curitiba, Parana.
$500,000 donated for Hurricane Sandy disaster relief

Autograph expands in Europe
