Marriott International on fast track for Asia growth
Marriott International, Inc. announced that it expects to more than double the size of its portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region in the next few years.
Gaylord Hotels joins Marriott International
Marriott Rewards members can now earn and redeem points at three of Gaylord Hotels’ premier resorts - Gaylord National, National Harbor, MD (just outside Washington, DC); Gaylord Palms, Kissimmee, FL (near Orlando, FL); and Gaylord Texan, Grapevine, TX (on the outskirts of Dallas).
Marriott International to double Asian hotel operation
Marriott International has announced it expects to more than double the size of its portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region in the next few years. With 132 hotels open in Asia today and a pipeline of signed and approved deals now totaling an additional 143 properties, the company expects to grow to at least 265 hotels by 2016, with more than 80,000 rooms in 16 countries.
Marriott Hotels signs new strategic partnership with German Golf Association
Marriott Hotels & Resorts signed a three year strategic partnership with the German Golf Association (DGV), the umbrella organization representing over 800 golf clubs in Germany. The partnership, effective from 1st January 2013, makes Marriott Hotels & Resorts one of four main sponsors of the DGV and the official hotel partner.
Marriott set to double portfolio in Europe
Leading global hotel operator Marriott International is on track to double its portfolio in Europe from 40,000 rooms to 80,000 rooms by 2015. The group will focus mainly on Russia & CIS where it plans to grow its existing portfolio by more than 50 percent to more than 30 hotels open by 2015.
Marriott completes Gaylord acquisition
Marriott International has completed the transaction to acquire the Gaylord brand and hotel management company for $210 million. The deal was initially announced on May 31st with Gaylord Entertainment Company, now Ryman Hospitality Properties.
