A new Courtyard by Marriott Hotel is set to open in Lima. The 150-room hotel, which will be Marriott International’s third property in Peru, will feature a business lobby, a casual dining restaurant, meeting space and recreational facilities include a swimming pool and a fitness centre.

JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts is Marriott International’s luxury brand that consists of 59 exceptional properties in gateway cities and distinctive resort locations around the world. JW Marriott Hotel Dhaka will be part of a mixed-use development that will also include retail and office components, and construction of the hotel is already under way.

Marriott International has signed seven management agreements with TCC Hotels Group which will see the US hospitality giant operating seven TCC hotels across Thailand. The agreements make the TCC Hotels Group the largest owner of Marriott International hotels in Asia Pacific.

Officials at the Rugby League World Cup 2013 have announced Marriott Hotels & Resorts as the Official Hotel Partner of the tournament. Sally Bolton, RLWC2013 tournament general manager said: “It’s fantastic that we are able to announce Marriott Hotels & Resorts as our Official Hotel Partner today.”

Marriott International has launched the Marriott Culinary Apprenticeship Academy, its first coordinated effort in the United Kingdom to train and offer young people a viable career in the culinary and hospitality industry. Through the MCAA, Marriott will train 15 young apprentices to NVQ level 2 on the eighteen month programme, aiming to increase the number to thirty the following year. 

Just weeks after Hurricane Sandy moved through the Caribbean and along the Eastern U.S., all Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels that were temporarily closed as a result of the storm have reopened and are welcoming guests.
