New strike forces Lufthansa cancellations
The second strike in a matter of days at German flag-carrier Lufthansa is causing disruption at Frankfurt Airport. Nearly 200 flights have been cancelled at the busiest airport in Germany, as cabin crew represented by the UFO trade union walk out in a dispute over pay and conditions.

Cabin crew and German flag-carrier Lufthansa have confirmed they will strike again on Tuesday as a dispute over pay and conditions rumbles on. Services at Frankfurt were disrupted on Friday when members of the UFO union walked out as part of eight hours of industrial action.
UFO causes Lufthansa flight cancellations
A strike by the UFO trade union in Germany has caused a number of Lufthansa flights to be cancelled today. Cabin crew at the German flag-carrier walked out this morning at Frankfurt Airport after talks over pay and conditions broke down earlier in the week.

Lufthansa withdrawing service from Munich to Singapore and Jakarta
Lufthansa is cancelling its Munich-Singapore route with the introduction of the 2012/13 winter schedule. As a result, the onward flight from Singapore to Jakarta, Indonesia, will no longer be operated. Singapore and Jakarta are currently served five times a week from Munich with an Airbus A340-300. Lufthansa will continue to operate a daily A380 service from Frankfurt to Singapore, but will no longer fly to Jakarta.

Lufthansa launches foursquare-based advertising push
German flag-carrier Lufthansa had launched a new Blue Legends app, allowing passengers to share information about their journey with others via social networks and virtually check in to airports, lounges and Lufthansa flights through foursquare. This does not take the place of actually checking in for a Lufthansa flight, however.
Air Onix to fly with navigation charts from Lufthansa Systems
Lufthansa Systems today announced that the Ukrainian start-up carrier Air Onix, which began flight operations at the end of April 2012, has been using navigation charts from Lufthansa Systems right from the start. The two companies have signed a five-year agreement for Lido/RouteManual and the electronic version for tablet PCs, Lido/iRouteManual.
