World Travel Market 2016: Ciora takes senior role at LA Tourism
The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board has announced the appointment of Ashlee Ciora as senior director, tourism. Ciora will be responsible for overseeing strategy and programming for half of LA Tourism’s international markets in coordination with Stephanie Nakasone, who will continue to oversee the other half. Ciora will report to Kathy Smits, vice president, tourism, at LA Tourism. Most recently, Ciora served as vice president of travel industry sales for the Greater Palm Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Los Angeles International Airport welcomes new connection facility
Millions of LAX passengers will now be able to reach their connecting flights more quickly and conveniently, thanks to a brand-new, $148-million facility at the airport. The Terminal 4 Connector is a new piece of the LAX Central Terminal Area that connects the airport’s south side terminals — Terminals 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 — with the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
Austrian Airlines to link Vienna and Los Angeles with new flight
Austrian Airlines will add a new long-haul destination in North America to its flight schedule in the summer of 2017. Starting on April 10th, 2017, a Boeing 777 will take off to Vienna from Los Angeles, up to six times a week.

ATM 2016: Saudi Arabian Airlines to boost Los Angeles flights
Saudi Arabian Airlines will increase its flights between Saudi Arabia and Los Angeles from three departures a week to five from June 1st. This is in anticipation of increased demand during the peak season and in keeping with its continued expansion in its services in North America and elsewhere.
Emirates boosts frequency on Los Angeles departure
Emirates has announced it plans to launch a second daily service from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Friday July 1st, 2016. The second Los Angeles flight will be operated with an Emirates’ Airbus A380-800ULR aircraft in a three-class configuration with 14 private suites in First class, 76 seats in Business class and 401 seats in Economy class.
Los Angeles Tourism targets MICE in UK and Ireland
The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (L.A. Tourism), the organization responsible for marketing and selling Los Angeles to travellers and meeting planners globally, has appointed Lisa Stewart UK and Ireland MICE Representative. In this role, Stewart will be responsible for building key account relationships and identifying new MICE business opportunities for the destination.

LA Galaxy hosts Spurs
