JetBlue flies into Holguín’s Frank País Airport, Cuba

JetBlue is starting its new daily non-stop service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Holguín’s Frank País Airport in Cuba. Holguín becomes the third city served in Cuba from the airline’s south Florida focus city. With service to Holguín, JetBlue now operate 42 nonstop flights each week between the two countries and more coming in late November with the launch of Havana.

New York-based JetBlue Airways has amended its purchase agreement with Airbus to include an additional 15 Airbus A321ceo (current engine option) and 15 A321neo (new engine option) aircraft. The airline, which already operates A321s, has not yet announced its engine selection for the newly ordered aircraft.

JetBlue serves the route with its Airbus A320 aircraft.

JetBlue has confirmed operations on its new Quito-Fort Lauderdale route will begin in the first quarter of 2016. JetBlue’s operation at the Mariscal Sucre International Airport will connect both destinations with one daily flight. For this purpose the airline has announced the use of an Airbus 320 with a capacity of 150 passengers.

JetBlue Airways has signed an agreement with its partner, ABC Charters, to add a new charter flight to Cuba beginning this summer. The weekly flight, which begins on June 5th, will operate on Fridays from Tampa to Havana. The addition marks one of the first expansions in charter service by a major US airline since restrictions on travel to Cuba were eased in January.
