JetBlue flies into Holguín’s Frank País Airport, Cuba
JetBlue is starting its new daily non-stop service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Holguín’s Frank País Airport in Cuba. Holguín becomes the third city served in Cuba from the airline’s south Florida focus city. With service to Holguín, JetBlue now operate 42 nonstop flights each week between the two countries and more coming in late November with the launch of Havana.
JetBlue Airways adopts Sabre crew system
JetBlue Airways is introducing Sabre’s comprehensive crew management system that offers a range of crew scheduling, management, services and analytical capabilities. This new platform from Sabre Corporation helps solve one of an airline’s biggest challenges – crew tracking and management – while also giving airline crew employees a more efficient way of interacting with the airline both on and off duty.
JetBlue Airways orders 30 additional A321 aircraft from Airbus
New York-based JetBlue Airways has amended its purchase agreement with Airbus to include an additional 15 Airbus A321ceo (current engine option) and 15 A321neo (new engine option) aircraft. The airline, which already operates A321s, has not yet announced its engine selection for the newly ordered aircraft.
TAP launches Embraer 190 as JetBlue partnership takes off
TAP is continuing to upgrade its service offering to customers, both in comfort through the introduction of the Embraer 190, and an extended route network within the US through a new code-share with JetBlue. The first E190 aircraft took its maiden flight for the airline on route TP488, from Lisbon to Nice, France.
JetBlue Airways flies into Palm Springs
The city of Palm Springs has become the newest destination of JetBlue Airways, with the launch of a new, non-stop service from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Palm Springs International Airport. The seasonal flight route is operating five times a week, Thursday-Monday, until May 1st, 2016. JetBlue serves the route with its Airbus A320 aircraft.
JetBlue adds Grenada to Caribbean network
JetBlue Airways has launched twice-weekly services to its newest destination, Grenada’s Maurice Bishop International Airport from John F. Kennedy International Airport. The carrier now offers up to 152 daily flights from the U.S. to Latin America and the Caribbean.
JetBlue flies into Quito for new low-cost South American flights
JetBlue has confirmed operations on its new Quito-Fort Lauderdale route will begin in the first quarter of 2016. JetBlue’s operation at the Mariscal Sucre International Airport will connect both destinations with one daily flight. For this purpose the airline has announced the use of an Airbus 320 with a capacity of 150 passengers.
JetBlue Airways in Caribbean expansion
JetBlue Airways is continuing its expansion in the region with seasonal weekly service from Boston’s Logan International Airport (BOS) to Barbados’ Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI), which will launch November 7.
Jetblue to step up Caribbean services this winter
JetBlue Airways plans to offer its Mint experience from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Barbados and Aruba, two of its most popular Caribbean routes. The new seasonal services begin in November. Since launching on transcontinental routes in June 2014, Mint has quickly become recognised for its private suites, the widest seat and longest fully-flat bed in the US domestic market, tapas-style dining, custom amenity kits and 15-inch flat screen televisions with free entertainment.
Jetblue adds Florida service from Baltimore
JetBlue Airways intends to expand at Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport, with twice daily service to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The new non-stop route to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood will launch in November and seats will go out for sale with the upcoming November schedule release.
JetBlue Airways adds charter flight to Cuba
JetBlue Airways has signed an agreement with its partner, ABC Charters, to add a new charter flight to Cuba beginning this summer. The weekly flight, which begins on June 5th, will operate on Fridays from Tampa to Havana. The addition marks one of the first expansions in charter service by a major US airline since restrictions on travel to Cuba were eased in January.

JetBlue Airways has announced plans to be the first major domestic carrier in the US to accept Apple Pay in the sky, making mobile payments at cruising altitude simple and speedy. Apple Pay gives customers an easy and secure way to pay for onboard purchases of premium offerings. Customers often already have their mobile phone in hand or nearby when the time comes to buy a snack or amenity.
