Holiday Inn Northampton West, part of the Splendid Hospitality Group, has been transformed and revitalised thanks to a £2 million makeover. The hotel, located just a two-minute drive from the M1, now boasts 66 newly decorated rooms and a stunning Open Lobby design in the hotel’s reception area.
InterContinental Hotels Group and St Marys Rugby League Club have signed a franchise agreement for a 123-room, new build Holiday Inn hotel in St Marys, Greater Sydney. Holiday Inn Sydney St Marys, scheduled to open in late 2017 will represent a new definition of the Holiday Inn brand in Australia.
InterContinental Hotels Group has signed Holiday Inn Dubai Science Park. The newly built hotel will operate under a management agreement with an affiliate of the Rolaco Group, who also own InterContinental Dallas, InterContinental Semiramis, InterContinental Geneva, Crowne Plaza Geneva, and Crowne Plaza Zurich.
InterContinental Hotels Group is opening the 108-room Holiday Inn Express Mexico Toreo hotel, located in Naucalpan in greater Mexico City’s north-western area. This hotel opens following an investment made by its franchisee of more than US $2 million dollars. InterContinental Hotels Group has announced it is set to open four new hotels across eastern Europe in the next few months, with a further 46 confirmed as being in the pipeline. The figures are a reflection of the hotel group’s expansion strategy in the region at work. The emergence of a new breed of traveller looking for diverse experiences has given rise to the region overtaking its Western counterparts: while Western Europe may be home to the most visited countries, Eastern Europe saw the fastest growth in 2015.
InterContinental Hotels has announced that the group will add five new Holiday Inn brand family hotels to its growing presence in Germany. The hotels will be developed in three federal states across the country and confirm IHG’s successful expansion in the market. IHG has 64 hotels in Germany and 33 in the pipeline, including 53 Holiday Inn brand family hotels open with 32 in the pipeline.
InterContinental Hotels Group has pointed to the booming “mainstream” sector as the key to its growth in the Americas. Covering the mid-scale and upper-mid-scale segments, IHG chief executive Richard Solomons said the Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites brands would be the pivotal to the group’s success in the region.

InterContinental Hotels Group has signed for the new Holiday Inn London – Kensington, which will be one of the largest properties from the brand in Europe. This 694-room franchised hotel will be rebranding from the independent Kensington Close Hotel, one of the largest hotels in London, and is due to open as a Holiday Inn in December 2016.

InterContinental Hotels Group is opening its first Holiday Inn hotel in the Santa Fe district of Mexico City. The 95-room new-build property is located in west Mexico City, close to corporate offices, entertainment and shopping, including Centro Comercial Santa Fe.
