Beijing Capital Airlines to connect London Heathrow to Qingdao, China
Heathrow has today confirmed that Beijing Capital Airlines will launch a new direct service from the UK’s hub airport to Qingdao, the home of Tsingtao beer and one of the fastest growing cities in China. The new route will connect passengers and cargo directly from Heathrow to Qingdao for the first time, providing three direct services every week starting this summer.
Hainan Airlines to bring Dreamliner to Manchester route
Hainan Airlines has announced it will now operate the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on its routes between Manchester and Beijing. From May 1st, the Chinese carrier will use its flagship aircraft on the route.

VisitBritain signs Hainan Airlines partnership to boost Chinese visitor numbers
VisitBritain has celebrated its milestone partnerships with Hainan Airlines and Alitrip, Alibaba group’s tourism arm, in China. Both partnerships have been established to attract more Chinese visitors to Britain. UK secretary of state for culture, media and sport Karen Bradley and VisitBritain director Patricia Yates earlier met with senior executives from Hainan Airlines and Alitrip as part of the fourth UK-China People to People Dialogue.
Hainan Airlines welcomes Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to fleet
Boeing and Hainan Airlines have celebrated the delivery of the carrier’s first 787-9 Dreamliner. Hainan becomes China’s first operator of both the 787-8 and 787-9 variants of the Dreamliner family. Hainan Airlines, the largest privately owned airline in China, leased the airplane through an agreement with Air Lease Corporation.

Hainan Airlines is looking for a European PR agency to provide strategic and creative consultancy, plus brand development across the eight countries it serves in Europe. Reporting to Hainan Airline’s Brand team based in China, the initial tender process will be managed by the press office at Manchester Airport. Hainan Airlines will begin direct flights from Manchester to Beijing in June this year, making it the only UK airport outside of London with a direct service to China.
Hainan boosts capacity on Manchester-Beijing route
It is a very happy Chinese New Year for the UK’s third largest airport, as Hainan Airlines has increased capacity on its Manchester-Beijing route, before it has even launched. Starting on June 10th 2016, Hainan Airlines will fly four times a week to the Chinese capital and has announced this week it will increase capacity on the aircraft, going from an Airbus 330-200, to an Airbus 330-300.
dnata wins Hainan Airlines contract in Australia
Global air services provider dnata has signed another multi-year agreement with a Chinese carrier Hainan Airlines to provide full ground handling services for the airline’s new flights to Sydney’s Kingsford Smith Airport. This is the second Chinese airline customer that dnata has won this year, adding to the contract with Xiamen Air announced earlier in the month.
