Emirates has announced the launch of a daily A380 service to Nice, gateway to the French Riviera and Provence. The daily A380 service will start on July 1st just in time for the beginning of the summer holiday season.

Parisian security officials have launched a major security operation after an incident at the Louvre. A French soldier on guard at the museum opened fire on a suspected attacker.
Dozens killed in Nice terror attack
At least 84 people are now believed to have died in a terror attack in the southern French city of Nice. Children are among the dead after a lorry deliberately drove through crowds celebrating Bastille Day. The lorry mounted the Promenade des Anglais and drove for up to two kilometres through pedestrians.
EVA Air to go daily on Paris-Taipei route
EVA Air has announced an increased service on its Paris-Taipei route which will operate daily, non-stop flights as of Monday, October 10th. Increasing from three-times-weekly, EVA Air will continue to operate its existing service with the iconic Hello Kitty Hand-in-Hand Jet, introducing a modern, standard livery Boeing 777-300ER for the additional four flights to the European City of Light.
Euro 2016 drives up French hotel prices
With Euro 2016 having kicked off on June 10th, data from global hotel solutions provider HRS shows a significant price increase for accommodation in the French host cities. With rooms costing an average €131 per night, they are 21 per cent up year on year, according to recent analysis by HRS.

Allegri takes up leadership role with Le Bristol Paris
Frank Marrenbach, chief executive of Oetker Collection, has announced the recent appointment of Luca Allegri to the role of managing director of Le Bristol Paris. Allegri will take over the leadership of the award-wining Parisian palace in August 2016. He will take over from Philippe Perd who has been assigned this function temporarily on top of his role of managing director of Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes.

Railways workers in France have walked out on strike in a dispute over labour reforms in the country. Unions are concerned over proposed plans to make it easier to hire and fire employees. The strikes are expected to cause disruption across the French rail network today.

Eurostar has reported strong forward bookings for the Euro 2016 tournament as football fever kicks in.
