Luxury hotel brand Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is planning the development of a new luxury hotel in Morocco, Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé. The 200-room hotel, set to open in 2019, will be located in La Marina Morocco, a coastal mixed-use development strategically located between Rabat and the ancient city of Salé.

Fairmont Raffles Hotels International has announced the appointment of Michael Glennie as president and chief operating officer. In the position, Glennie will be responsible for the global operations of all three leading hotel brands - Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Raffles Hotels & Resorts, and Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts - and other entities within the FRHI portfolio.
Singapore’s historic Raffles Hotel has been sold to Qatari Diar investment fund by Fairmont Raffles Hotels, which is owned by the Saudi multi-billionaire Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, in a deal worth $275 million.
Following a series of deals, the Qatar Investment Authority has become the largest shareholder in Fairmont Raffles Holdings International. The group – which also operates the Swissôtel brand – has 88 hotels and resorts in 27 countries worldwide, including the famous Raffles Hotel, Singapore.
