Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced a new property in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province and a vital crossroad in the transport network of central China. Scheduled to open in 2016, the development will be in partnership with Hunan Taskin Investment.

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced a new addition to its growing residential collection, Fairmont Residences, Chengdu, which is slated for completion in 2013. Fairmont Residences, Chengdu will feature 382 luxury residences adjacent to the new 375-room Fairmont hotel expected to open in 2015. 

The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle has long been a favourite with heads of state, royalty and celebrities from around the world. Most recently the five-star property was featured as a romantic hideaway for fictional characters Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in E.L James’s best-selling Fifty Shades Darker sequel. Fairmont Hotels & Resorts announced that it has formally removed shark fin from all of its hotel menus in Asia, effective immediately. The move, which also spans the brand’s global culinary operations, is in line with Fairmont’s commitment to environmental stewardship in an effort to conserve precious marine species.

Luxury hotel brand Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Manchester Texas Financial Group have announce the signing of an agreement for Fairmont to manage a new city centre hotel slated to open in 2015. The Fairmont Austin will be located directly east of the Austin Convention Center, at the northeast corner of Cesar Chavez and Red River Streets. 

A new resort property, Fairmont Ajman, will open in the United Arab Emirates in early 2013. Prominently situated on the Corniche, the property will feature 252 guestrooms and suites, including two luxurious penthouse offerings.
