Air Seychelles has announced details of its new direct flights from Mahé to Abu Dhabi. The news follows an announcement last week Etihad Airways, the UAE flag-carrier, would form a strategic partnership by taking a 40 per cent stake in the airline.

Etihad Airways takes stake in Air Seychelles
Government officials in the Seychelles have agreed to sell a 40 per cent stake in Air Seychelles to Etihad Airways as part of a strategic partnership alliance initiative. Under the terms of the deal the national airline of the United Arab Emirates will invest US$20 million in the carrier, with the sum to be matched by an equal capital injection by the government of Seychelles.
Etihad-airberlin deal set to fly
German and Austrian regulatory authorities have given their approval to the deal announced last month in which Etihad Airways increased its shareholding in airberlin to 29.21 per cent. The approved strategic partnership between the airlines will offer passengers a combined global network of 239 destinations, seamlessly connected through hubs in Abu Dhabi, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Vienna and Palma de Majorca.
