Eastern Airways to launch Glasgow-Isle of Man connection

Eastern Airways has announced a new route from Glasgow to the Isle of Man, less than two weeks after securing the future of the island’s routes to Northern Ireland and north-east England. The UK regional airline, which moved earlier this month to provide a continuation of links to the Isle of Man from Belfast City and Newcastle, following Citywing’s liquidation, will now offer a daily weekday link from Scotland with a new Glasgow service.

Eastern Airways is expanding the size of its Saab 2000 fleet to nine with the introduction of an extra aircraft. The regional airline, which provides a comprehensive domestic network of scheduled services, and is the UK’s leading provider of fixed wing air services for the oil and gas industry, will see the Saab 2000 entering service in the coming weeks.

Eastern Airways has said it will increase flights from Southampton Airport to Aberdeen, which will benefit business travellers and offshore workers. From January 20th 2014, UK largest regional airline will increase scheduled services to Europe’s energy capital from the south coast of England to two flights each weekday, Mondays to Thursdays, offering additional choice with morning and afternoon departures.

Eastern Airways has further expanded its jet fleet after taking delivery of a third Embraer 145 regional aircraft, increasing its number of Embraer jets to five. This new addition follows on from the arrival of its second Embraer 145 jet in June earlier this year.

Eastern Airways has taken delivery of a second Embraer 145 regional aircraft increasing the number of Embraer jets in its fleet to four. The second largest regional airline in the UK operates a fleet of 30 aircraft consisting of a mix of jet and turbo-prop aircraft which are used on UK domestic services, French, Belgian and Norwegian scheduled flights and private charter services.
