DFDS Seaways has been named Europe’s Leading Ferry Operator at the European leg of the 2012 World Travel Awards in the Algarve, Portugal. It is the sixth year running the ferry company has won a World Travel Award, last year winning both Europe’s and the World’s Leading Ferry Operator.

DFDS Seaways, the leading Dover-France ferry operator, is warning its passengers to take extra care when organising a European Health Insurance Card, known as an EHIC. The organisation is warning passengers some organisations are charging for the card, when they should be free of charge.
DFDS Seaways warns over French road safety changes
Leading Dover – France ferry operator, DFDS Seaways is highlighting the need for drivers to carry disposable breathalysers in their cars and motorbikes when driving in France. The new law, made compulsory by French officials from July 1st, states that breathalysers will enable drivers to check whether they are under the legal limit before driving.
New cross channel ferry route from DFDS Seaways

Positive results at DFDS Seaways
The shipping and logistics company DFDS’ turnover and profit grew by 18 per cent in 2011, with growth focused in the Channel, Baltic Sea, and on some major North Sea routes. In spite of the generally difficult market conditions, the group’s turnover grew to a record £1.4 billion and operating result grew to £174 million – a growth of 18 per cent for both. Pre-tax profit was £86 million.

DFDS A/S has announced that it has sold its subsidiary DFDS Seaways Maasvlakte B.V. in the Port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, to the Rhenus Group.
